🌿 Thursday, April 16, 2026 – Psalm 85

When Peace Returns After the Storm

by Torrie Slaughter

Psalm 85 feels like a deep exhale.

It reflects on restoration—on a people who have seen God’s mercy and are now asking Him to revive them again.

“Restore us again, O God of our salvation…” (Psalm 85:4)

Have you ever come out of a difficult season and thought:
“I’m better… but not fully whole yet”?

That’s where this Psalm lives.

Jehovah Shalom is not only the God who gives peace—
👉 He is the God who restores peace.

And verse 10 gives us something powerful:

“Mercy and truth have met together; righteousness and peace have kissed.”

Peace returns when we come back into alignment with God.

🙏🏽 Prayer

Father, restore what was shaken in me. Let Your truth and mercy meet in my life and bring me back into Your peace.
