🌿 Saturday, April 18, 2026 – Psalm 87

You Belong Here: Peace in Your Identity

Psalm 87 is a declaration of belonging.

It speaks of Zion—the city of God—and something surprising happens:
People from different nations are named as if they were born there.

“This one was born there…” (Psalm 87:4–6)

God is establishing identity, not based on origin… but on relationship.

And this is where peace begins for many of us.

Because if we’re honest:

  • Anxiety can come from not feeling like we fit

  • Restlessness can come from trying to prove ourselves

  • Striving can come from questioning where we belong

But Jehovah Shalom settles that question:
👉 You belong to Him.

Not because of where you’ve been…
but because of who He has called you to be.

And the Psalm ends with joy:

“All my springs are in you.” (Psalm 87:7)

Meaning—your source, your life, your flow… is in God.

🙏🏽 Prayer

Lord, remind me that I belong to You. Quiet every lie that tells me I have to earn my place. Let my identity be rooted in You so I can walk in peace.
