The Song That Time Cannot Silence

by Torrie Slaughter

In the treasury of Psalms, there are jewels that gleam with the memories of God’s enduring faithfulness.
Among these timeless treasures is
Psalm 105—a poetic masterpiece that invites us to stand in awe, lift our eyes, and remember: Our God has never failed.

The psalmist opens with a rousing call to action:

"Give praise to the Lord, proclaim His name; make known among the nations what He has done." (Psalm 105:1, NIV)

Pause for a moment:
When was the last time you stopped everything—mid-task, mid-thought—to simply
proclaim what God has done for you?

Psalm 105 is not just a stroll through Israel's history; it is a call to steward our memories well. We are ushered back to the days of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob—witnessing how God's covenant promises unfolded across impossible odds and barren circumstances.

We see God's hand:

  • Guiding the patriarchs through unknown lands,

  • Sustaining His people through famine and slavery,

  • Delivering them with power unmatched by kings or empires.

And yet, this song is not finished.
As the psalmist reminds us:

"He remembers His covenant forever, the promise He made, for a thousand generations." (Psalm 105:8, NIV)

That means you are included in this eternal promise.
Your story—no matter how broken or barren today—fits into God's grand symphony of redemption.

Action Step:
Today, write down five moments when you know without a doubt that God carried you, rescued you, or revealed His love to you.
Then, share one of those testimonies with someone else—declare His faithfulness out loud!

Your voice may be the spark that reignites hope in someone else's heart.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father,
We come before You with hearts full of gratitude, remembering Your faithfulness throughout the ages. Thank You for the steadfast love that endures forever and the promises that stretch beyond our lifetimes. Help us to steward the memories of Your goodness well, to proclaim Your greatness with boldness, and to trust You even when we cannot yet see the ending.
In Jesus' Name, Amen.
