Monday, May 11, 2026 – Psalm 107
When God Brings You Back
by Torrie Slaughter
Psalm 107 is the testimony of people who wandered, rebelled, suffered, cried out, and were still rescued by God.
That alone should make somebody shout.
This Psalm repeats a powerful pattern: people found themselves in trouble, they cried out to the Lord, and He delivered them. Not because they were perfect. Not because they had it all together. But because His mercy endures and His love is steadfast.
Some wandered in deserts.
Some sat in darkness.
Some were afflicted because of rebellion.
Some were caught in storms they could not control.
Yet every time, the same answer appears:
“Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble, and He delivered them from their distress.” (Psalm 107:6)
This is the heart of Jehovah Raah—the Good Shepherd who does not abandon His sheep when they wander.
Sometimes believers delay healing because shame convinces them they waited too long to return. But Psalm 107 reminds us that repentance is not God rolling His eyes at your return—it is Him opening the door.
God is not intimidated by your wilderness.
He knows how to lead people home.
Reflection:
Where have you been trying to survive instead of surrender?
Prayer:
Lord, thank You for being the God who restores. I bring You every place where I have wandered, resisted, or delayed obedience. Lead me back to Your peace. Heal what pride tried to hide. I trust Your mercy more than my mistakes. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Action Step:
Write down one area where you need to stop surviving and start surrendering.
