Saturday, May 16, 2026 – Psalm 112

Blessed Is the One Who Stays Planted

by Torrie Slaughter

Psalm 112 paints the picture of a person who fears the Lord and delights greatly in His commands.

Notice—it does not say they admire God’s Word.
It says they delight in it.

That is different.

Many people want the blessing of stability without the discipline of obedience.

But the Psalm shows us that strength is built through consistency.

“He will not fear bad news; his heart is steadfast, trusting in the Lord.” (Psalm 112:7)

There it is again—steadfast.

Not because life is easy.
Not because trouble never comes.
But because trust has become stronger than panic.

This is what Jehovah Raah does—He teaches us how to stay planted.

The blessed life is not a perfect life.
It is a surrendered one.

The person who fears God is not easily shaken because they have already settled who leads their life.

Reflection:

Do you want the fruit of faithfulness more than the appearance of it?

Prayer:

Lord, make me steady. Teach me to delight in Your Word and trust You fully. Let my life be rooted in obedience, not emotion. Build in me a faith that does not collapse when pressure comes. In Jesus’ name, amen.
