Remember Who Brought You Out

by Torrie Slaughter

These Psalms are filled with praise and remembrance.

Psalm 113 lifts our eyes to the greatness of God—He is high above the nations, yet He stoops down to lift the poor, the broken, and the forgotten.

Pause there.

The God who rules heaven still sees you.

Psalm 114 then reminds Israel of deliverance—how the sea fled, the Jordan turned back, and mountains skipped at the presence of the Lord.

In other words:
Remember what God has already done.

Sometimes the enemy wins ground simply because we forget.

Forgetfulness makes fear louder.
Remembrance strengthens faith.

Before moving into a new week, God often says:
“Look back correctly.”

Not to live in the past—
but to remember His faithfulness.

The same God who brought you out is the same God leading you forward.

You are not starting from scratch.
You are walking with history.

Reflection:

What testimony of God’s faithfulness have you forgotten in this current season?

Prayer:

Father, thank You for every place You have brought me from. Forgive me for forgetting Your faithfulness in moments of fear. Help me remember that the God who delivered before is still working now. I choose praise over panic and remembrance over fear. In Jesus’ name, amen.
