Monday, May 25, 2026- Psalm 119:33–48
Teach Me the Way
by Torrie Slaughter
There is a difference between knowing about God and truly desiring to walk with Him. In Psalm 119, the writer repeatedly asks the Lord to teach, incline, turn, establish, and strengthen him. These are not the prayers of someone pretending to have it all together. They are the prayers of someone aware that the heart can drift if left unattended.
As seasons shift, many people focus on external changes—schedules, responsibilities, opportunities, or transitions—but God often begins with the inner life. Before He changes direction around you, He works on the posture within you.
The psalmist understands that obedience is not sustained by willpower alone. A heart surrendered to God must continually be taught by Him. That is encouraging because it means growth is not about perfection; it is about remaining teachable.
Sometimes peace can feel unfamiliar after long seasons of pressure. Yet God does not only shepherd us through chaos—He also teaches us how to live faithfully in moments of stability. Prayer
Prayer: Lord, teach me Your ways and help me remain sensitive to Your voice in every season. Keep my heart from drifting toward distractions and establish me in truth. Amen.
Action Step
Take five quiet minutes today and ask the Lord: “What area of my heart still needs to become teachable?”
