The Joy of Going Together

by Torrie Slaughter

Psalm 122 begins with one of the most beloved declarations in Scripture:

"I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the Lord."

Notice the word us.

Faith was never intended to be lived in isolation.

When the Holy Spirit was poured out in Acts 2, God did not empower a single believer standing alone. He moved among a gathered community of believers who were united in prayer, expectation, and obedience.

One of the enemy's favorite tactics is convincing people they can walk with God while remaining disconnected from His people.

Yet Scripture repeatedly points us toward fellowship, encouragement, accountability, and worship together.

As God leads us into new assignments, He often places people around us who strengthen, sharpen, and encourage us along the way.

The journey was never meant to be traveled alone.

Reflection

How has God used other believers to strengthen your faith journey?

Prayer

Lord, thank You for the gift of community. Help me encourage others and remain connected to the people You have placed in my life. Amen.
