Recognizing the Healing You’re Already Walking In

by Torrie Slaughter

Psalm 21 is the companion to Psalm 20—and it’s important that we don’t skip it.

This Psalm is gratitude after God has moved, even if the journey isn’t fully complete. It’s the moment when you realize, “I’m not who I used to be.” Healing has already changed how you respond, how you pray, how you stand.

Jehovah Rophe heals in layers, and Psalm 21 helps us notice those layers. Strength has been added. Confidence has grown. The heart is no longer collapsing under pressure.

Slow down with this Psalm and let yourself acknowledge progress without guilt. Recognizing healing does not mean denying pain—it means honoring God’s work in you.

This Psalm teaches us to praise without pretending everything is perfect. Healing faith celebrates forward movement, not flawless living.

Prayer Pause:
“God, thank You for the healing I can see—and the healing still unfolding.”

Healing Step:
Write one sentence that begins with: “I am stronger now than I was when…”
