Strength in the Secret Place

Reading: Psalm 68

Psalm 68 opens with bold confidence: “May God arise, may his enemies be scattered; may his foes flee before him.” (v.1). This isn’t just history—it’s a battle cry for us today. What enemies are you facing? Fear? Discouragement? Doubt? When God rises, chains are broken and joy takes their place.

The psalm also reveals the tenderness of God’s heart: “A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in his holy dwelling.” (v.5). He is both a mighty warrior and a loving Father—powerful enough to scatter enemies, yet gentle enough to draw near to the brokenhearted.

Later, the psalmist pictures a great procession of victory (v.24). Imagine yourself there, marching with God who has already won the battle. Victory isn’t always the absence of struggle—it’s the peace of knowing He fights for you, the strength to keep going when the storm rages, and the joy of walking in step with His triumph.

Psalm 68 is an invitation to witness God’s power, rest in His love, and step into His victory with confidence.

Closing Prayer

Lord, arise in my life today. Scatter fear, doubt, and anything that stands against Your will. Thank You for being both my defender and my Father. Teach me to walk in Your victory with joy and confidence. Amen.
