From Cry to Confidence

by Torrie Slaughter

Something shifts in the second half of Psalm 22. The pain hasn’t disappeared, but the posture has changed. David moves from asking “Where are You?” to declaring “You have answered me.”

This psalm teaches us that worship doesn’t always follow deliverance—sometimes it precedes it. Praise becomes a prophetic act, not a reaction. David praises God not because everything changed, but because God is faithful.

Faith grows when we choose to remember who God has been, even while waiting to see what He will do.

Prayer:
God, help me praise You before I see the outcome. Strengthen my faith to trust Your faithfulness over my fear.

Action Step:
List three ways God has been faithful to you in the past and thank Him for them today.
