“Led, Not Rushed”

by Torrie Slaughter

Psalm 23 reminds us that God’s leadership is not loud or hurried. The Shepherd leads beside still waters and restores the soul—He does not drag His sheep forward in panic.

Even the valley is not a detour; it’s part of the journey. The presence of the Shepherd is what defines safety, not the absence of difficulty. David doesn’t say the valley disappears—he says fear does.

This psalm teaches us to measure peace by presence, not by circumstances.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, slow my heart and steady my steps. Help me trust Your leading, even when the path feels uncertain. Amen

Action Step:
Take five intentional minutes today to pause—no phone, no task—just breathe and acknowledge God’s presence.
