Reading: Psalm 85
There’s a special kind of weariness that comes from rebuilding—again. Psalm 85 meets us there.
“You, Lord, showed favor to your land; you restored the fortunes of Jacob.”
The psalmist looks back at God’s past mercy to fuel present hope. He remembers the times God came through when everything felt lost. And yet, he prays again:
“Restore us again, God our Savior… Will You not revive us again, that Your people may rejoice in You?”
It’s the rhythm of grace—restore, rejoice, repeat. Each time we think we’re too far gone, God invites us back into renewal. His restoration isn’t just about fixing what’s broken; it’s about awakening what’s forgotten.
Then comes the promise that quiets the chaos:
“He promises peace to His people.”
Not peace that removes the struggle, but peace that steadies us within it. And in that peace, love and faithfulness meet, righteousness and peace embrace. God’s presence always brings harmony to what was once in pieces.
Reflection:
You may have to start over, but you never start alone.
Prayer:
Lord, breathe new life into the weary parts of me. Restore what disappointment has drained. Let Your peace take root where chaos once ruled, and let revival begin again—in me. Amen.
