📖 Reading Focus: Psalms 97–98

“The Lord reigns, let the earth be glad; let the distant shores rejoice!” — Psalm 97:1

The new week begins with a song — not of striving, but of surrendered celebration. Psalms 97 and 98 call all creation to rejoice because the Lord reigns. His rule is not harsh; it’s holy. His power is not reckless; it’s righteous.

Psalm 97 paints a breathtaking picture: lightning flashing, mountains melting, and the heavens proclaiming His righteousness. It reminds us that obedience isn’t just about duty — it’s a response to majesty. When we choose to walk uprightly even when it costs us, we’re joining creation in declaring, “The Lord is King!”

Then Psalm 98 invites us to sing a new song — a song of salvation. “For He has done marvelous things; His right hand and His holy arm have worked salvation for Him.” God’s faithfulness doesn’t just deliver us; it invites the world to witness His goodness. The seas roar, rivers clap, and mountains echo with joy. Why? Because justice has come. The King has made things right.

As you enter this new week, let these psalms tune your heart. Let obedience sound like music and trust feel like rhythm. When the world rushes ahead in noise and confusion, you can stand still in wonder and worship — because your God reigns in righteousness, and His salvation endures forever.

🕊️ Prayer:
Sovereign Lord, You reign in power and righteousness. Teach me to live this week in joyful obedience to Your will. Let my life be a new song that proclaims Your salvation to those around me. May every act of faith become praise that honors Your eternal reign. Amen.
