Held While Waiting

by Torrie Slaughter

Psalm 25 closes with a very human request: “Turn to me and be gracious to me, for I am lonely and afflicted.”
This is not the prayer of someone who has lost faith—it’s the prayer of someone still waiting while trusting.

David teaches us that waiting doesn’t mean pretending we’re strong. We can ask God to see us, to guard us, and to redeem us all at the same time. Deliverance may be unfolding, but the heart still needs reassurance along the way.

God’s care is not rushed—but it is deeply personal.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, meet me in the waiting. Guard my heart, ease my distress, and remind me that I am not forgotten.

Action Step:
Reach out to one trusted person today and share honestly how you’re doing—don’t wait until the victory to ask for support.
