Psalm 119:97–112

Loving the Word That Loves You Back

“Oh, how I love your law! I meditate on it all day long.”
The psalmist isn’t simply reading Scripture—he’s dwelling in it. His affection for God’s Word shapes his thoughts, attitudes, and decisions. Love grows where attention goes, and he gives his attention fully to the Word that has never failed him.

“I have more insight than all my teachers, for I meditate on your statutes.”
Real understanding isn’t measured by intellect or experience—it’s measured by alignment with God’s truth. The psalmist acknowledges that Scripture gives him clarity far beyond the wisdom of people around him. When culture shifts and voices compete for influence, God’s Word remains the standard.

“Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.”
