Psalm 28:1–9

Provision Includes Rescue

by Torrie Slaughter

David cries out because silence from God feels dangerous. “If You are silent to me, I become like those who go down to the pit.” This is honest faith—acknowledging that we need God’s voice to survive.

Jehovah Jireh provides help, strength, and rescue, not just resources. David praises God after being heard, showing us that gratitude is part of trusting provision.

Sometimes God’s provision looks like being lifted emotionally before anything changes externally.

Prayer:
Jehovah Jireh, thank You for hearing me. When I feel overwhelmed or uncertain, be my strength and shield. Help me trust Your voice above all others. Amen.

Action Step:
Thank God today for one prayer He has already answered—big or small.
