The Lord Strengthens the Very Place That Was Weakened

Psalm 138 is a powerful declaration from David — not spoken from ease, but from experience. He praises God because every time he cried out, God answered him and strengthened his soul. Not his circumstances first. His soul.

This psalm reminds us that God doesn’t just remove the trouble — He builds you up in the middle of it.
He fortifies the places that were fragile.
He strengthens the areas that were under attack.
He lifts the heart that once felt crushed.

And then David says something breathtaking:
“The Lord will perfect that which concerns me.”

Not rush it.
Not ignore it.
Not abandon it.
Perfect it.

As we close this week — and edge closer to the end of the year — Psalm 138 gives us the assurance that God is shaping, settling, and strengthening the very areas that once felt like they were falling apart.
What tried to break you will not have the final word.
God will.
