Psalm 44:9-26
Provision When You Don’t Understand
by Torrie Slaughter
“Rise up and help us; rescue us because of Your unfailing love.” — Psalm 44:26
The second half of Psalm 44 shifts dramatically. The people feel abandoned despite their faithfulness. This passage gives permission to bring confusion and disappointment honestly before God. Jehovah Jireh provides reassurance even when answers are not immediate.
Faith does not mean pretending everything makes sense. It means trusting God’s unfailing love when circumstances feel contradictory. The psalm ends with a plea for rescue, reminding us that dependence is the doorway to divine intervention.
Reflection: Are you willing to trust God’s love even when you cannot trace His plan?
Prayer: Lord, in seasons I do not understand, anchor me in Your unfailing love. Provide hope that carries me until clarity comes. Amen.
