When Remembering God’s Faithfulness Heals Your Perspective
by Torrie Slaughter
Psalm 9 is a declaration of praise rooted in remembrance. David recounts what God has already done as a way of strengthening trust for what is still ahead. Healing here comes through reflection.
The word “remembers” (Hebrew: darash) means to seek out or inquire carefully. God does not forget the afflicted—He actively attends to them. David praises God not because life is perfect, but because God has proven faithful.
Discouragement often grows when we forget past deliverance. Psalm 9 invites us to heal our perspective by rehearsing God’s faithfulness aloud.
Prayer:
Jehovah Rophe, I thank You for the ways You have healed, helped, and upheld me before. Restore my vision by reminding me of Your faithfulness. Heal my memory where fear has overwritten testimony. I declare that You are a stronghold for the oppressed and a refuge in every season. Amen.
