Don't Forget Who Brought You Here

by Torrie Slaughter

Scripture: Psalm 105:1–15

Have you ever looked back over your life and realized that what once seemed impossible has become part of your testimony?

Psalm 105 begins with an invitation to give thanks, call upon the LORD's name, and make His deeds known among the people.

The psalmist then urges God's people to remember His marvelous works, His wonders, and His judgments.

Why is remembering so important?

Because forgetfulness can quietly shift our confidence from God's faithfulness to our own accomplishments.

Israel's story did not begin with a mighty nation or an impressive army. It began with God's covenant promise to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Even when His people were few and vulnerable, the LORD remained faithful to His word.

Jehovah Sabaoth does not depend upon human numbers or influence to accomplish His purposes.

Sometimes we become so focused on what remains unfinished that we overlook the evidence of God's faithfulness along the way.

Remembering what God has done strengthens our willingness to trust Him with what we cannot yet see.

Today, don't allow your current circumstances to erase your testimony.

Reflection Question

What evidence of God's faithfulness have I neglected to remember or share?

Faithful Father, thank You for remembering Your promises even when I forget Your works. Help me recognize Your faithfulness throughout my journey and trust Your authority over what lies ahead. In Jesus' name, Amen.
