He Calls You Back With Joy

by Torrie Slaughter

Key Verse:

"Let Israel be glad in his Maker..." — Psalm 149:2

Many believers think joy is something that appears after every problem has been solved.

Scripture teaches something different.

Joy is found in the presence of the One who never leaves us.

Psalm 149 calls God's people to sing a new song. New songs often come after new encounters with God. They are born from remembering His faithfulness through seasons we never thought we would survive.

Joy is not pretending everything is fine. Joy is confidence that God remains faithful even when life feels uncertain.

Sometimes returning to God means allowing Him to restore the joy that has slowly been replaced by discouragement, routine, or spiritual fatigue.

God is not inviting you back into empty religious activity. He is inviting you into living fellowship where your heart finds delight in His presence again.

Perhaps your new song begins today—not because everything has changed, but because you have remembered the One who never changes.

Reflection

Has your relationship with God become routine instead of joyful?

Prayer

Father, renew the joy of walking with You. Remove every burden that has made my heart grow weary and awaken fresh gratitude within me. Teach me to delight in Your presence and to celebrate Your faithfulness each day. Let my life become a song that honors You. In Jesus' name, Amen.
