Scripture: Psalm 8:1-9

Remember Who Crowned You

by Torrie Slaughter

The first week of our journey with Jehovah Tsidkenu ends with worship.

David lifts his eyes from his struggles and fixes them on the majesty of God.

"O LORD, our Lord, how excellent is Your name in all the earth!" (Psalm 8:1)

When we see God rightly, we begin to see ourselves rightly.

David marvels that the Creator of the universe would be mindful of humanity.

"What is man that You are mindful of him?" (Psalm 8:4)

The answer is not found in our achievements.

It is found in God's love.

He created us in His image, crowned humanity with honor, and through Jesus Christ restored what sin had broken.

Jehovah Tsidkenu reminds us that our identity is not earned through performance but received through relationship with Christ.

That truth should never produce pride.

It should produce worship.

As we finish this first week together, remember that your value does not come from what you accomplish for God but from belonging to Him.

When you know whose you are, you can walk with confidence, humility, and joy.

Live from Heaven's verdict—not the enemy's accusation.

Prayer

Lord, thank You for seeing me, loving me, and calling me Your own. Thank You for restoring my identity through Jesus Christ and clothing me in His righteousness. Help me live each day with humility, confidence, and worship, remembering that my life finds its purpose in You. May everything I do bring glory to Your excellent name. Amen.

Reflection

This week, what truth about your identity in Christ has challenged or encouraged you the most?

Take time to thank God for that truth and ask Him to help you continue living from His verdict every day.
