Scripture: Psalm 7:1-17

The Lord Is My Defender

by Torrie Slaughter

One of the greatest freedoms found in Jehovah Tsidkenu is knowing that we no longer have to defend our own righteousness.

David faced false accusations and unjust attacks, yet instead of taking matters into his own hands, he brought his case before God.

"O LORD my God, in You I put my trust." (Psalm 7:1)

Trust changes our response.

When our identity is secure in Christ, we no longer have to prove ourselves to everyone around us. We do not have to win every argument, answer every accusation, or carry the exhausting burden of defending our reputation.

God is fully capable of vindicating those who belong to Him.

This does not mean we never speak truth or address conflict. It means our confidence is rooted in God's justice rather than our own ability to control every outcome.

Jehovah Tsidkenu reminds us that the Judge of all the earth sees every hidden motive, every unseen act of obedience, and every circumstance that others may misunderstand.

You can rest because your life is safely held in His righteous hands.

Prayer

Father, thank You for being my Defender. When I am misunderstood or falsely accused, help me resist the temptation to respond in fear or pride. Teach me to trust Your justice, rest in Your righteousness, and continue walking faithfully before You. May my confidence remain in You alone. In Jesus' name, Amen.
