Our Given Purpose® exists to help believers move from being lukewarm to fully Spirit-led, empowering them to align their lives with God’s purpose. Rooted in the truth of Galatians 5:16, our ministry provides structure and accountability through the One Year Bible Reading Plan, equipping individuals to engage consistently with God’s Word and grow spiritually.

Our Vision

At Our Given Purpose®, we tackle the struggles of inconsistency, spiritual stagnation, and distraction by providing resources that guide believers to walk confidently in their God-given purpose, one surrendered 'yes' at a time.

Torrie Slaughter is a Bible teacher, founder of Our Given Purpose®, and a devoted guide for believers seeking to walk closely with God through His Word and the leading of the Holy Spirit. Anchored in Galatians 5:16—“Walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh”—Torrie’s heart is to help believers move beyond surface-level faith into Spirit-led maturity marked by obedience, discernment, and intimacy with Christ.

With over 27 years of marriage, motherhood to two young adult sons, and years of ministry experience, Torrie brings together life wisdom, theological study, and practical discipleship. As a Certified Master Life Coach, Ministry Consultant, and theology student, she teaches with clarity, humility, and deep reverence for Scripture—believing that surrender to Christ and consistent engagement with God’s Word are essential for a life of peace, alignment, and Kingdom impact.

Through Our Given Purpose®, Torrie equips believers with biblically grounded resources designed to foster spiritual growth, consistency, and accountability. At the core of the ministry is the One Year Bible Reading Plan, which shapes daily devotionals, livestream teachings, and podcast content. This structure helps believers read the Bible with understanding, apply truth to everyday life, and grow steadily in spiritual maturity.

Torrie teaches with a pastoral heart and a prophetic sensitivity—pastoral in care, patience, and encouragement; prophetic in discernment, clarity, and calling believers into alignment with God’s truth. Every teaching is rooted in Scripture, guided by prayer, and focused on illumination rather than performance—helping believers hear God more clearly, walk obediently, and live out their faith with confidence.

Teaching through Our Given Purpose® is designed to strengthen personal study and support—never replace—the role of the local church and biblical community. For those seeking in-person or online worship, Torrie and her family are active members of Church 24/7 International, a Christ-centered community committed to teaching the Word of God and equipping believers for Kingdom living.

The Word of God Is Our Foundation

We believe the Bible is inspired, authoritative, and alive. God’s Word reveals His character, anchors our faith, and guides daily life. All teaching, prayer, and encouragement flows from Scripture.

Jesus Christ Is Central to Everything We Do

We believe salvation, restoration, and purpose are found in Jesus Christ alone. Through faith in Him, lives are transformed and hearts are aligned with God’s will.
