Endure in Truth: Guarding What Cannot Be Stolen, Psalm 78

Psalm 78 is a wake-up call: “My people, hear my teaching; listen to the words of my mouth” (v.1). Asaph urges God’s people to remember His works so they don’t repeat the mistakes of the past.
Israel saw miracles — the Red Sea parting, manna from heaven, water from the rock. Yet they asked, “Can God really spread a table in the wilderness?” (v.19). Isn’t that our question too? Can God provide? Can He heal? Can He restore?
The truth is—He already has. He rained down bread, poured out water, and even sent meat when they demanded it. But the tragedy was this: they wanted God’s gifts more than God Himself.
Endurance in truth means remembering who God is, not just what He gives. When doubts rise, rehearse His faithfulness. Look back at the seas He’s parted and the tables He’s already set.
So the next time you whisper, “Can God really?”—answer with confidence: Yes, He can. Yes, He has. Yes, He will.
