Reading: Psalm 88
"Faith is not proven by how quickly we recover—but by whom we keep calling on."

There’s a silence that can feel heavier than pain itself. Psalm 88 is the psalm for that silence.

“Lord, You are the God who saves me; day and night I cry out to You.”

The writer feels abandoned, forgotten, unseen. Yet even in the dark, he keeps praying. That’s the quiet miracle of this psalm—faith that refuses to quit, even when it doesn’t feel rewarded.

He says, “I cry to You for help, Lord; in the morning my prayer comes before You.” The situation hasn’t changed, but the direction of his prayer hasn’t either. His voice still rises toward Heaven, even when Heaven feels closed.

That’s what trust looks like when you’re tired: not perfect faith, just persistent faith. The psalm ends with “darkness is my closest friend,” but the prayer itself proves that even in darkness, we are not alone—because we’re still talking to the God who hears.

Reflection:
When all you can do is whisper His name, that’s still worship.

Prayer:
Lord, even when I can’t feel You, I’ll keep calling Your name. Meet me in the silence. Hold me when I can’t hold on. Turn my sighs into songs of trust until Your light breaks through again. Amen.
