Psalm 27:7–14

Provision Trains Us to Wait

by Torrie Slaughter

Waiting is one of the hardest places to trust God as Provider. David cries out honestly—“Hear, O Lord, when I cry!”—yet he ends with resolve: “Wait for the Lord; be strong.”

Jehovah Jireh doesn’t rush provision, but He strengthens us while we wait. Waiting isn’t punishment; it’s preparation. God provides endurance, courage, and clarity in seasons where answers feel delayed.

David reminds us that waiting is active faith. It requires choosing trust daily, even when silence feels heavy. Provision isn’t absent just because it’s unseen.

God often uses waiting to refine our desires so we don’t misinterpret His blessings when they arrive.

Prayer:
Jehovah Jireh, teach me how to wait without losing hope. Strengthen my heart when answers feel delayed. Help me trust that You are working even when I cannot see it. Amen.

Action Step:
Instead of rushing a decision today, pause and ask God one question—and wait quietly for His peace.
