Endure in Truth: Guarding What Cannot Be Stolen

Psalm 78:32-55

“In spite of all this, they kept on sinning; in spite of his wonders, they did not believe” (v.32).

That verse feels like a heartbreak in print. Israel saw the seas part, manna fall, and water pour from rocks—yet their faith faded into rebellion.

It’s easy to shake our heads, but isn’t that our story too? God delivers, forgives, and provides, yet we forget. One doubt here, one compromise there, and before long, awe turns into entitlement.

And yet—God was merciful. Verse 38 says, “He forgave their iniquities and did not destroy them.” His anger was real, but His mercy was relentless. Even in judgment, He was pulling His people back to Himself.

Psalm 78 calls us to remember. Not just to recall facts, but to let God’s past faithfulness shape today’s devotion. Forgetfulness breeds rebellion, but remembering fuels worship.

So today, pause. Remember the doors God has opened, the prayers He has answered, the times He carried you when you were weak. Let remembering stir your heart into gratitude.

Because endurance in truth begins here: not forgetting who God is, and not doubting what He can do.
